Ana's Adoption Journey

About Ana's Adoption Journey

When Sofia and her husband Alex met Ana she was 21 months old and 15 pounds. She did not walk or talk. Ana would not respond to adults or other children and only sat staring at a single point. Medical records indicated that she had the physical and cognitive development of a four-month-old baby. The orphanage staff assumed she would be diagnosed with severe autism, among other special needs diagnoses.

Alex and Sofia welcomed Ana into their family through adoption and less than eight months later, she is walking and running. She is starting to communicate. This is truly miraculous! Only the love of a family can transform a child in this way.

But the journey doesn’t end at adoption.

Ana just had kidney surgery and is now under constant monitoring by a urologist. While she is still developmentally delayed, her parents are committed to ensuring that she gets all the support and resources she can to reach her maximum potential. Your gifts will help them with rehabilitation and therapy.

Ana’s parents are overjoyed by her progress. So much so, that they are in the process of adopting another baby girl!!

Your gift will help cover Ana’s medical needs and help her family bring home a baby sister. It will also allow them to purchase a double stroller for Ana and the new baby.

Every child deserves a loving family. Thank you for saying YES to helping Ana and her soon-to-be baby sister! May God’s loving words echo in your hearts this Christmas season as they do for Ana.
